The ANNUAL KICKOFF this year will be held on Wednesday, October
1 from 6:00 PM to 10:00 PM at the HOUSE CHAMBER, 3rd Floor at
the State House in Boston. Coro Dante will be performing the American
and Italian anthems and other musical selections. Attend with
friends and family and show your support of October Italian Heritage
Month! A proclamation by Governor Deval Patrick will be read.
Honored Guest: Consul General of Italy, Nicola De Santis. A wonderful
program has been planned, so please join us! Free and open to
the public. Refreshments will be served.

Notable Italians and Italian-Americans. There are many good
sources of information about Italian-Americans who have achieved
great success in the arts, sciences and other endeavors, but one
excellent source is the compilation by the Dante
Alighieri Society of Massachusetts, Inc. They also have included
a list of the Italians and Italian-Americans who have won the Pritzker
Prize, a Nobel Prize, or the Fields Medal, three of the most prestigious
international awards in existence. Two other major national Italian-American
organizations also maintain comprehensive web sites containing useful
information on the
