Notable Italians and Italian-Americans. There are many good sources of information about Italian-Americans who have achieved great success in the arts, sciences and other endeavors, but one excellent source is the compilation by the Dante Alighieri Society of Massachusetts, Inc. They also have included a list of the Italians and Italian-Americans who have won the Pritzker Prize, a Nobel Prize, or the Fields Medal, three of the most prestigious international awards in existence. Two other major national Italian-American organizations also maintain comprehensive web sites containing useful information on the
achievements of Italians and Italian-Americans. Readers are encouraged
to consult the web page of the Order of Sons of Italy in America and the National Italian-AmericanFoundation.
